Batik Hanging - Banquet

$50.00

Size: 120cm x 79cm

Batik, also known as laran or wax printing, is a form of dyeing or printing folk art made by applying beeswax to create different shapes. The cloth is generally dyed with indigo, and when the wax is removed with hot water, the images appear. Today you can still find batik being done by the ethnic people in the South-West of China. The traditional designs are geometric. With the influence of the Han Chinese more figurative designs like flowers, birds, fish have been introduced over the centuries.

Testimonials

"I did receive the batik hanging a few days ago and was thrilled by it and the little paper cutout which is beautifully done. It was also nice to receive the card and note. You provide excellent customer service.

The hanging will be a focal point in decorating my bedroom in what will be my first apartment.

Thank you VERY much and I hope to order from you again"
